Spratlen has served as a Vice President of Pioneer Natural Resources in various capacities since 1999. In 2014, she was named Vice President, Permian Affairs, a new position created in response to the strategic significance of Permian Basin operations to Pioneer and its commitment to Permian communities and employees.
Based in Midland, Texas, Spratlen engages with community leaders and industry partners working toward building stronger local communities to foster the world-class business and social environments that are critical to supporting the Permian Basin’s new position as the world’s premier shale oil province.
Spratlen serves on the board of directors and the executive committee of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association. She is past chair of the Midland Chamber of Commerce and a member of the steering committee for Priority Midland. She chairs the Education Committee of the newly created Permian Strategic Partnership and is a member of the Business Steering Committee for the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Also aligned with Pioneer’s emphasis on supporting youth and education, she serves on the boards of Educate Midland and United Way of Midland.
Spratlen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Angelo State University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She is a certified public accountant. Spratlen joined the company’s predecessor, Parker & Parsley Petroleum Company in 1990. Prior to that, she worked for KPMG.
